Hi y’all! Last week we left our home in Calgary for the last time. After all of our belongings were packed and loaded, we took off in our truck, headed for Texas.
After crossing the border we stopped in Great Falls with the intention of getting some grub and a few hours of sleep before continuing on. We left the next morning, heading for Wyoming. After about half an hour, Matt realized he had left his coat behind in the hotel closet, so we turned around heading back for Great Falls. At the time I had no idea that this detour would totally change the course of our trip and our lives thus far, but it was this mistake that has gotten us to where we are now, at an RV park in Grand Junction.
On the way back through town we spotted an RV dealership and decided that it would be fun to stop and look. To make a long story short, we now are now the proud owners of an RV, and doing this road trip proper!
The first part of the trip took us through Montana and Wyoming. I am convinced that the song, Home on the Range was written about these places. Both were mostly wide expanses of open prairies with mountains rising up in the distance. Deer and antelope were playing in the fields and we saw cowboys driving cattle right across the highway. Simply beautiful country…
I enjoyed this so much. I bet you are all having fun. Do you know about “gem cache”? A women at the store was headed to Coppers Break to find a gem and leave one. Sounds fun. There are all over the US.
Donita, we had a great trip. I haven’t heard of gem caching, but it sounds fun.
Beautiful country and beautiful girls!
